Confirmation is a beautiful sacrament of initiation that confirms, strengthens, and seals the person with the Holy Spirit, encouraging their maturing in faith, and linking them to Christ and His mission. Our preparation program is an engaging and dynamic two year program, and most teenagers begin the process in their eighth grade year. The finalization of the preparation happens in Year II of the program. Attendance in Confirmation Preparation classes is required by the Diocese of Madison for two years in order to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation at the end of year 2 of the program.
Sacramental Preparation: Confirmation
Pre-Confirmation: In eighth grade, teens attend monthly Family of Faith sessions with their parents and complete additional preparation with their parents. One church service project needs to be completed in eighth grade.
Confirmation Preparation: Ninth graders continue to attend monthly Family of Faith sessions with their parents and complete additional preparation at home. The teens also attend one ninth Grade Confirmation session each month.
Additional preparation includes church and community service projects, saint project, retreat, candidate/sponsor assignments, and more.
We celebrate Confirmation in our parish in April or May. The Diocese of Madison will let us know our Confirmation date in the fall.
